I'm a former Dental Hygienist and it sounds like something that we would see frequently. It sounds like plaque deposits. Yep, "plaque" just like what forms on your teeth that you need to brush away 3 times a day. Be sure that you are brushing your tongue and the roof of your mouth (in addition to your teeth) to ensure a plaque-free mouth. Also, this can happen more frequently if you are ill and your tonsils are swollen. When it happens during illness, they're called "puss pockets". Other than treating the illness, you can gargle with warm salt water to help loosen the deposits from your "pockets". Good luck!
