Several different designs exist for paper airplanes, but the most common and best-suited paper airplane for general purpose use is called The Arrow. If you have made a paper airplane in the past, but have forgotten, it was probably The Arrow. To make the plane you will need only one standard 8 ½” x 11” sheet of paper.
To begin, fold the paper in half lengthwise. Open the paper. Using the center line as a guide, fold one corner of the top of the page to the center line. Make sure the edge of the corner is aligned with the fold at the center. Fold the other corner of the same short end to the center line. You will now have a paper with one pointed end. Next, you need to bring the two folded edges to the center line. Fold each side to the center line, creating a longer pointed end. Now, turn the paper over and fold it in half along the center line. To make the wings, fold down one end of the paper about an inch up from the center line. Fold the other side down to match the first side.
Your paper airplane is now ready for flight. Give it a test launch. If the plane dives too fast, you can slightly fold up the back of the wings. If the plane climbs too steep, it will crash, but this can be fixed by slightly folding down the back of the wings.
