Cats generally have better table manners, but it is possible to train a dog to eat sitting down, although they'll still have problems with using utensils.


Cats and dogs will eat either standing or sitting, depending on the situation. You may have only seen one of these animals doing one or the other because you've only seen them fed one way. Generally, cats and dogs will sit to eat something close to the floor, or to use their front paws to hold onto something. You can see this happen when a dog has a bone, or a cat has caught a mouse.

Cats and dogs will eat standing up if they need to reach around something to get to their food: my Persian does this because her short nose means she must be standing for her mouth to reach the food in the bowl. If other predators are eating, standing makes it easier to fend off competitors for food. This is why you will never see multiple dogs share in eating from a bowl sitting down.

dedicated4u 		Cat is always hiding herself but dog never hiding themselves.
So therefore cat eat sitting down and dog eat standing up.

sweety 		Generally cats height is less than dog may be that's why cat is sitting and dogs are eat standing up.
